This link opens in a new window."), a series of workshops that reinforce our commitment to empathy, inclusion, equity and belonging; and volunteer opportunities to connect with community partners across the region to do well and do good in the communities where we live, learn, work, play and seek care. This link opens in a new window.") ## CareFirst Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) Our nine ERGs bring together employees with shared identities and passions, recognizing the power of hearing and understanding each other’s unique experiences. These groups provide development opportunities and deepen engagement with the communities we serve, impacting the employee experience, our business goals and CareFirst’s mission.  ##### Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) United The AAPI United ERG celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the AAPI (Asian American & Pacific Islander) community and addresses the unique needs and interests of AAPI employees. The AAPI United ERG seeks to build awareness of diverse AAPI cultures, create opportunities for education and career development and amplify AAPI voices within CareFirst and throughout the community.  ##### Action on Sustainability, Climate Change and the Environment (ASCE) The ASCE ERG members serve as agents of change on environmental issues and a forum for CareFirst employees interested in and passionate about the natural environment.  ##### Black Professionals Network (BPN) The BPN aims to foster a sense of community and belonging, promote cultural awareness and diversity within the organization, and serve as a forum for discussing and addressing race, equity and inclusion issues. Through mentorship, educational awareness workshops, guest speaker events and social gatherings, the BPN empowers its members to achieve their full potential.  ##### Families & Caregivers Resource Group The Families & Caregivers Resource Group provides social support and networking opportunities for working parents, guardians and caregivers as they strive to balance personal and professional commitments. One of the ways the ERG does this is by analyzing company resources and recommending program improvements to promote the well-being of parents and caregivers.  ##### Familia (Hispanic/Latino/Latinx ERG) CareFirst Familia inspires employees to expand diversity and inclusion efforts of the Hispanic/Latino/Latinx community at CareFirst and in the communities we serve. The ERG promotes Hispanic/Latino/Latinx cultural awareness, works with leadership to advance diverse hiring strategies and provides professional development and networking opportunities.  ##### Healthy Living Employee Resource Group The Healthy Living ERG creates, promotes and supplements wellness activities to assist CareFirst employees in obtaining a healthy, happy and empowered lifestyle both personally and professionally. From monthly challenges to peer support groups, the ERG helps employees achieve their wellness goals.  ##### Military & Veteran Resource Group (MVRG) The MVRG welcomes military and veteran employees and families and friends of those who serve or have served in all branches of the military. This group helps veterans transition to and succeed at CareFirst through programs and activities throughout the year.  ##### ProPride The ProPride ERG engages our LGBTQ+ employees and allies to increase understanding of LGBTQ+ inclusion issues. Members support local nonprofit volunteerism, pride parades and professional mentorship and networking.  ##### Women’s Impact Network (WIN) WIN strives to champion personal and professional growth and foster an environment where all women can thrive. WIN empowers female employees and their allies through accountability, mentoring, education, open forums and outreach opportunities.  ##### The ERG Summit This annual gathering brings together ERG Leaders and Executive Sponsors to share resources, exchange best practices, and build strategic plans for the year ahead.
